9 months due.

I can't believe it. How has time flown by? It seems like only yesterday my blog was born out of an inspiration to share my love of the game... OK, fine, I'm lying. It was born out of sheer boredom. I vividly remember staring inactively at my computer screen, asking myself if a blog was really a good idea... I'd never been much of a writer (except for essays on Russia. I could write about Russia all day. Don't ask.) but figured I needed something to kill time. What started off as an idea, by the time I finished my first-ever blog (http://beautyandthepitch.blogspot.com/2010/03/stop-telephoning-me-eh-eh-eh-eh-im.html), turned into an outlet for me to essentially tell the world: I love Manchester United. I love what they represent, and what they continuously strive for: success. What's more? I love to love what I love. D'you know how long I can go on finding new ways of depicting this love?

And here we are, 9 months later, and I feel as if I must be counting the months wrong. 2010 has been such a whirlwind year, but there comes a time when you've got to take a minute, put your life on hold, and appreciate what has been. So this is me, pressing pause, so I can reminisce over my favorite blog moments of 2010...

June 2010 - World Cup Fever. Possibly my favorite month blogging, not only because it was summer and I'm just a happier person when the sun is out (fact). But because I was so proud of Ghana's performance, so proud that the World Cup was happening in Africa; that regardless of the outcome, I knew I would treasure this World Cup more than any before. Incidentally, my posts from that month happen to be my favorite posts that I've written thus far: http://beautyandthepitch.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html.

I can't forget that 2010 also saw me relocate to Geneva. To say I've always wanted to live in Switzerland would be the understatement of the decade, so here's to having a dream, and making things happen for yourself. And amidst the cross atlantic move, I managed to see Manchester United play live - (for the first time!!) - and fullfill a childhood dream of seeing my all time favorite, Ryan Giggs (http://beautyandthepitch.blogspot.com/2010/07/blog-post.html). As if that wasn't enough, the heavens threw a Rafa Nadal vs. Andy Murray semi final my way, giving me my favorite team AND favorite tennis player live, all in the same summer... (http://beautyandthepitch.blogspot.com/2010/08/perfect-summers-day.html).

So yes, I really can't complain. It's been a great year. Ferguson celebrated 24 years in charge of the greatest English team, and I'll celebrate 24 years on this Earth in a few days. I've taken up skiing and managed not to break my legs (YET), crossing off yet another 2010 resolution: learn a winter sport (for anyone who knows me, they realize the monumental effort behind this). There have been so many highs, in fact, that I will willingly forget and/or ignore the lows.

Now as I head back to Canadia for the holidays, I get to look forward to 2011 with a big grin on my face, because 2010 has indeed been good to me. Next up on my wish list for 2011? Aside from the usual suspects (bags, bags, and bags)?
A pilgrimmage to the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, Manchester.

Hey... it all starts with a little dream, right?

Happy Holidays :)
